Smart Love® differs from other approaches in not relying on natural consequences or negative measures of any kind, such as letting your baby cry him/herself to sleep, in order to manage the child's behavior. Smart Love® was developed by Drs. Martha and William Pieper, is full explained in their book Smart Love, and is also featured every month in the popular Smart Love column in Chicago Parent magazine.
